The Team Venture group proposes to stage a scene at the Bonny Dunne Beach. We feel that the area is a beautiful and tranquil area with much scenic potential. We hope to perform a classic play, such as The Tempest, at an area where we can use the full potential of what is available to us. This way we can have the option of doing scenes in the water and on land. On May 15th around 2pm, the Team Venture group will all take a trip to Bonny Dunne Beach and use the materials found on location to create a set for our scene. We will use driftwood, rocks, shells, seaweed, and the sand as props and scenic design for our piece. Possibilities include making sand castles with the sand, thrones out of driftwood and rocks, and a makeshift proscenium arch out of driftwood and seaweed. Rather than de-installing our set, we will let the forces of nature slowly take it apart.
and its a damn good excuse to take a trip to the beach. :)
hows it sound? anything i should change?

sorry i missed the meeting today, i dig the idea. can I suggest that we make the sand castles (or whatever we chose to do) in the style of the designers we chose for the midterm? Or some other designer that has peeked our interest.
ReplyDeletei think that would be interesting... but it would require that we each create our own sand castle, seeing as we all did different designers. So, we would have to figure out how to incorporate 11 sand castles into our design.
ReplyDeleteI think the idea is good if we can find a good way to integrate that many sand castles
hell yeah sand castles. i think if there are opposing sides in the story, they should have opposing castles. like realism and symbolism, classic and modern, and choose designers within those sort of categories. ha, in that case, maybe we could do Rome and Juliet! :P
ReplyDeletewe'll find a way.....
