so what are your ideas for the MANIFESTO?
our selected title is "Facelift for the Classics"
what does that mean for you?
how do we give a new spin for the classic stories including all that lovely avant guarde, surreal stuff that we all seemed to be so fond of?
what do we hope to accomplish by doing this?
or
new ideas?
what do you like about theater?
what would you like to do?
those are my attempted inspiring questions. hopefully they will get everyone's juices flowing so we can more easily write our Manifesto.
a "manifesto" is a declaration of intentions, principles, and purpose. so what are our intentions or purpose?
feel free to barf out all the ideas right here, we'll make sense of them later. :)

Here are the notes and scribblings I wrote down from class last Tuesday:
ReplyDelete- New face on the old; new meaning so that the audience can better connect (catharsis)
- Theatrical space as manifestation of the collective unconscious; physical forms, Jungian archetypes
- Blur the line between reality and the subconscious/imagined
- Experimentation with new forms regardless of success; "science for science's sake"
sweet! anyone know what the requirements are for it? how long, what exactly we talk about?
ReplyDeleteoh, that is carrie. im borrowing someones computer.
